Itinerary - 02: Tribal Tour 11days/10nights

 

Day 01. Kolkota – Guwahati – North Likhampur(Lilabari Airport): You will arrived Lilabari airport(North Likhampur Assam) from Guwahati / Kolkota / Delhi. Pick up drive to Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh (78km/2hrs drive). Itanagar is capital city of Arunachal Pradesh is a modern settlement build in the vicinity of the ruin of the 14th century ford old capital. Overnight stay Hotel.

Day 02. Full day in ITANAGAR: Morning after breakfast full day to visit the city. We start with legendary Ganga Lake (Gyakar Sinyi). By 2hrs nature walk it is a beautiful picnic spot 6kms away from Itanagar a green forest lake surrounded by primeval vegetation, orchids masses on tall trees tree ferns provides a small taste of the  magnificent forest of the state.

         Later we visit historical fort called Itafort, dating back to the 14-15 centuries, after which it is named. The capital houses the Rajbhawan, the official residence of the Governor has also many worth visiting places in and around Itanagar. Evening free. We will stay same place.

Day 03. Itanagar – Bomdila(320km/7hrs): Early morning we drive to Bomdila which is about 350km in Arunachal Pradesh. On the way we will visit one of the biggest orchidariums in Asia at a place called Tipi. From here we continue our drive to Bomdila. It is a very pleasant drive as we climb up the foothills of the Himalayas and the surroundings are covered in dense tropical jungles. We will spend the night at a hotel in Bomdila.

Day 04. Bomdila- Tawang(180km/6hrs): This morning we will drive to Tawang which is at a distance of about 200km. Tawang is at an altitude of about 12000ft and we will be driving through some very steep gradients as we climb up the mountains. Tawang is the major centre of the Mahayana sect of Buddhism and the town stands on a hill commanding a wonderful view of the surrounding mountain ranges. To reach Tawang we will pass the world's second highest pass - the Sela Pass - which is at an altitude of about 15000ft. Here the climate and the scenery takes on an alpine colour and it is very cold at this height. We will spend the night at hotel.

Day 05 : Full day in Tawang:  Tawang is a very interesting town and we will spend a full day here visiting the various monasteries (Gompa in the local language). Here is situated the world's second largest monastery which is about 300 years old. A short drive from the town we come to the monastery of the nuns- Brandang Chung Ani Gompa. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 06 : Tawang-Dirang(140km/4hrs: From Tawang we will drive to another town, Dirang further up in the mountains. This drive is very fascinating as we will be passing and visiting various tribal villages which are predominantly inhabited by the Monpa tribe. We will get a very close view of their cultural and social life as well as be interact with them. We will spend the night at the Tourist lodge or camp in tents.

Day 07. Dirang-Tezpur(220km/6hrs). After breakfast we drive to Tezpur(Assam). The city of blood as result of the great mythological war fought between Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. Evening free we can visit Bhoroli river. O/n  stay hotel.

Day 08. Tezpur-ZIRO (about 370 km, 7hrs drive): Morning after breakfast drive to Ziro. Enroute visit Nyishi Tribal Villagers. The Nyishi are the largest group of people inhabitating the major part of Lower Subansiri district. Their men folk wear their hair long and tie it in a knot just above the forehead. They wear cane bands around the waist. They believe that after death the spirit of a dead travels to the village of the ancestors. The Sulungs or Puroik are considered to be one of the oldest of the tribes in the area. Their dress and costumes are simple and the religion is a form of the primitive “spirit culture” Overnight Hotel Ziro.

Day 09. Full day at ZIRO: A full day visit to Apatani tribes villages. The Apatani’s occupy a 26 sq. km stretches of valley in the central region of Subansiri at an altitude of (1524 meters). The Valley lies roughly midway between the Panior and the Kamla rivers. Steep mountain ridges, gaining heights of (2438 meters) enclose the valley on all sides. it ha\s been called ‘the rice bowl) of Apatanis who practice wet whole region. The Apatanis now constitute a population of little over 10,000 concentrated in few crowded villages. The Apatanis are distinguished by very regular features in marked contrast to other neighboring tribe. They are of slender build with delicate long hands ; their features are progressive the face long, the nose narrow and often elegantly curved, the light eyes are comparatively and deep set. The Apatani wear cane helmet of the same shape and tie up their hair in a knot just on the top of the forehead with a brass skewer stuck horizontally through it. The marks of distinction about the appearance of the Apatanis are the tattoos on the face of both male and female. The Concrete symbol of unity and cohesion among the Apatanis are the many seasonal ceremonies to which they look forward with expectant longings. The most important festivals are the Morung and Myoko ceremonies naturally connected with their agricultural activities. Overnight Hotel

Day 10. Ziro- North Lakhimpur(Assam). O/n stay hotel.

Day 11. North Lakhimpur – Lilabari airport drop. END OF SERVICE.

Cost including. Arrival and departure, We will provide 01 vehicle non a/c jeep, per jeep share by depend on you, Accommodation in standard, Break fast, Lunch, Dinner, (Restricted area permit for Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Part of Sikkim, Tripura), Entrance fee, English speaking guide and local escort.

Cost those not include. Camera fee, personal expanses, any kind of drink, phone call, laundry, Tips. Which are not mention above.

Note

1.      Please send your document i.e. Xerox copy of passport & visa to be obtain permit processes for Arunachal Pradesh. Document should be reached 4 week in advance.

2.      This traveling circuit is do not have a star hotel. But there is basic standard accommodation only. Circuit house/Tourist Lodge which is run by Government / Small private party. Also this trip will have traveling in very remote and tribal village, facilities are poor service like a telephone, electricity, money changer, road maintained, and you must treat as Nature adventurous trip
